Iain Murray AM honoured for work in assistive technology and education

Fundi Software is delighted to congratulate Dr. Iain Murray on being made a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in the Queen’s Birthday 2016 Honours List.

The award reads: "For significant service to people who are blind or have low vision, and to education in the field of assistive technology as an academic and researcher."

Dr. Murray is founder of the Cisco Academy for the Vision Impaired (CAVI). CAVI provides industry-standard certification courses to blind and vision-impaired people and has helped students throughout the world to gain employment in technology-based industries. CAVI, a not-for-profit enterprise, is a project of the Curtin University Centre for Accessible Technology (CUCAT).

Fundi Software is a long-term sponsor of CAVI. The relationship between Fundi and CAVI began in 2008 through a chance meeting at the Western Australian Information Technology & Telecommunications Awards (WAITTA): CAVI and Fundi are both WAITTA winners.
